- 200g poppy seeds, ground
- 4 eggs
- 150g sugar
- 150g apple, grated
- 100g walnuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 100g butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Whip the eggs and sugar until a thick foam forms.
- Mix in the ground poppy seeds, grated apple, and chopped walnuts.
- Add the melted butter and vanilla extract, stir until combined.
- Pour the mixture into a prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the oven with the door ajar to retain moisture.
Notes
For an alternative, you can substitute the apple with pears or add raisins for additional flavor.
